Chris Harrison is making NO apologies for the way ABC handled Arie Luyendyk Jr.‘s dumping of fiancée Becca Kufrin.

As we reported earlier, The Bachelor season 22 finale had a shocking end when the race car driver turned real estate agent dumped his final rose recipient over unresolved feelings for runner up Lauren Burnham. To make matters worse, Arie chose to break up with Becca in the most savage way — by FILMING THE WHOLE ENCOUNTER.

So rude. And we’re not the only ones disgusted with the way ABC televised Kufrin’s heartbreak. Countless fans SLAMMED the network for the disrespectful way they handled Arie’s change of heart. Here’s a taste of what was said on Twitter:

With hate circulating around the internet, host Harrison moved quickly to defend ABC’s production decision. During a visit with Good Morning America, the longtime host noted:

“There was no way Arie was going to do this and look great. In my opinion, you don’t get to just tell the fairytales… “That was wild. 16 years of this and that was breathtaking. It’s going to take a little bit of time to process all of that even for myself.”

If you watched the Women Tell All for The Bachelor on Sunday night, you already know Arie Luyendyk Jr. got called out by Caroline Lunny for something she “knows he did.”

While we’ve heard speculation that her comment was in regards to what happens in next week’s finale episode, Caroline is now spilling some more sketchy information about something Arie did while in the fantasy suite with one of his final three women.

According to the real estate agent from Florida, the former race car driver played a mixtape she made for him while he was spending one-on-one time with Becca off camera! Wowww.

The former contestant told Us Weekly of her special compilation of her favorite songs:

“I found out he later used it in the fantasy suite. I’m friends with Becca and she told me! She was like, ‘Oh my God we listened to your thing.’ It’s fine because he knew that we were really close, but I was kind of, like, ‘That’s a little off-sides buddy, playing my fucking mixtape.'”

That’s just weird as shit, no??

Sofia Richie Is Apparently Paying Scott Disick’s Bills!

Though they were “never a couple,” the socialite and the British racing driver “liked spending time together.” An E! News source explains:

“[They] were never exclusive. Lewis thought she was a cool girl… Lewis and Sofia are still good friends. They are all adults.”

Unfortunately, Lord Disick wasn’t too happy about the exchange, and totally “lost it”! A second insider revealed:

“Scott got frustrated that they ran into Lewis over the weekend, and that it was unexpected… He doesn’t like surprises and reacts aggressively in situations like that. This isn’t the first time that Scott has lost it for a minute.”

Fortunately, Nicole Richie‘s sister “knows how to handle him” and was able to “calm him down.” Luckily, the new couple are doing well, and know how to quickly squash their beefs.

“Everything is fine between the two now… They will get in small fights and are over it within a few minutes. Sofia is definitely a good match for him because she understands him and puts up with his behavior in moments like this.”

According to a different source, the KUWTK star has jealousy issues, and “has trouble controlling his emotions.” No really??

“Scott gets insanely jealous of all kinds of things and has trouble controlling his emotions… He overreacted and got upset over Sofia saying hello to Lewis. He had no problem letting Sofia know he didn’t like it. She handled it very maturely and tried to respect his feelings. She knows how to deal with Scott and diffused the situation.”

In response to the drama, Hamilton’s lawyer told Page Six:

“Although Mr. Hamilton was in Aspen for the holiday, there was no jealousy, no fight, and no issue; rather, as Ms. Richie has herself confirmed, there was a perfectly friendly, polite exchange and any claim to the contrary is simply false.”

A Texas Sheriff went on

Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy E. Nehls wrote on Wednesday how he’s received numerous calls about “FUCK TRUMP AND FUCK YOU FOR VOTING FOR HIM” sticker, and that he’d like to “discuss it” with the owner:

“Our Prosecutor has informed us she would accept Disorderly Conduct charges regarding it, but I feel we could come to an agreement regarding a modification to it.”

A day later, Karen Fonseca, the owner of the pickup truck (pictured above), was arrested and placed on a $1,500 bond.

The Texas native was brought in on an outstanding felony warrant for possession and use of a fake identification after the sheriff’s office received a tip about it, according to BuzzFeed News.

Well, plenty of people have come to Karen’s defense, citing “free speech” in Troy’s nearly 10K of FB comments! The ACLU of Texas even called him out:

He’s since deleted his original post.

The sheriff’s office said in a statement:

“The objective of the post was to find the owner/driver of the truck and have a conversation with them in order to prevent a potential altercation between the truck driver and those offended by the message. Since the owner of the truck has been identified, the Sheriff took down the post. Due to the hate messages he has been receiving towards his wife and children, the Sheriff will not be commenting on the matter further.”

Although he did hold a press conference on Wednesday night to clarify he wasn’t threatening charges, saying he had “not threatened anybody with arrest. We have not written any citations.”

Karen is out on bond, and has responded about her and her husband’s sticker, sharing:

“It’s not to cause hate or animosity. It’s just our freedom of speech and we’re exercising it.”

The wrongful death lawsuits surrounding the death of Paul Walker are finally over.

According to The Blast, both Paul’s daughter and father settled their suits with Porsche.

Meadow Walker — who is now 18 by the way — apparently settled with the luxury car company for an undisclosed amount after claiming in her suit that her father survived the impact in the 2013 crash but was unable to escape due to poor design.

Specifically they said the seatbelt “snapped Walker’s torso back with thousands of pounds of force, thereby breaking his ribs and pelvis” then trapped him in the burning wreckage.

While the amounts are unknown, it does seem part of the deal was for the wrongful death case to go away; all parties are now requesting it be dismissed. So this must be quite a lot of money we’re talking about.

Meadow previously was awarded $10.1 million from the estate of Roger Rodas, the driver of the Carrera GT.

How is WBTV responding to the controversy?

The studio sent a statement to Us Weekly in an effort to clear some things up about K.J.’s health, work hours, and more:

“First and foremost, we are extremely grateful that KJ Apa was uninjured during his recent accident. Secondarily, we want to specifically address the characterization that conditions on the set of Riverdale are of concern. We have a large cast of series regulars, and our actors do not work every day. On the day of the accident, KJ worked 14.2 hours. The previous day he worked 2.5 hours, and the day before that he worked 7.7 hours. KJ has repeatedly been informed about making production aware if he is tired or feels unsafe, and if so, either a ride or hotel room will be provided for him. The accident occurred last Thursday. Additionally, it is untrue that KJ was taken to the hospital. He was treated by first responders on the scene and released by them. We also sent a doctor to his home later that same day for a follow-up to confirm his well-being.”

While we heard WBTV is willing to pay for a cab or a hotel room upon request, the studio is now saying they also provide drivers — and that the entire cast and crew is made completely aware of this policy:

“The safety of the cast and crew on all of our productions is of paramount importance to the Studio. Productions adhere to the Screen Actors Guild–mandated turnaround time of 12 hours from wrap time to next day call time for cast members. In accordance with industry standard policy, if any cast or crew member feels tired or unsafe at any time after working, the Studio will provide a taxi, a driver or a hotel room upon request. This is communicated to all cast and crew, both in writing and verbally, at the beginning of production and is reiterated continuously throughout the duration of production.”

So if that’s all true, why didn’t K.J. get a driver? Could it be that the exhaustion didn’t hit him yet? Or he was too tired to realize how tired he was?

Just a few problems with providing a driver only upon request. Just off the top of our heads.

Devastating.

As we reported, a family of six died last week after their van was submerged by flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey in Texas. Only the driver survived.

In a Facebook post after the tragedy, Selena Quintanilla‘s father, Abraham Quintanilla, revealed the six lives lost were cousins of his.

He penned:

“The family that drowned in Houston Texas were related to me. Manuel Saldivar and his wife velia and 4 of their grandkids left their flooded house to go somewhere where there was safety, When they cross a bridge a wave of water swept the van and push them in to the bayou the driver was saved but manuel and his wife and 4 grandkids drowned.. manuels mother Carolina Was my father’s 1st cousin. My condolences to their family // 2nd Corinthians Chapter 1 verse 3 says praised be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ the father of Tender Mercies and the God of all comfort.”

Such a tragedy.

Not all the news coming from Hurricane Harvey is completely heartbreaking.

A Houston couple is becoming famous for the story of how controversial Chick-fil-A came to their rescue amid the flooding from the storm!

First, J.C. Spencer‘s wife Karen went viral after a picture of her smiling while riding a jet ski out of her flooded home (above) hit Reddit. But the story behind it is way more amazing!

In an interview with Good Morning America, her husband explained how being a regular at the fast food chain played into their escape:

“We had to get out of there so I called Chick-fil-A, now that sounds kind of funny. I ordered two grilled chicken burritos with extra egg and a boat. And can you believe that one of the managers of Chick-fil-A, she sent her husband to pick us up and we are so grateful.”

A manger’s husband and two men with jet skis showed up to rescue the grandparents from the rising water levels!

Jeffrey Urban, the chain’s manager, also spilled to HLN on Thursday:

“He was saying he was trying to reach out to people, and he couldn’t get any response from 911. So he called Chick-fil-A to see if we could help him out. And it was such a blessing that, in that exact moment, I was there to answer the phone and get him help.”

In case you’ve forgotten, the company has been known to have an anti-gay agenda, and would even donate directly to anti-gay groups! Even after promising not to do so, they still hosted a fundraiser for one group.

Still, we’re glad to see some good here. After all, we can still hope for change!

A state government spokesperson says the driver of the car is in custody.

Meanwhile, Charlottesville Mayor Mike Signer says there is one casualty from the attack. Health officials have also confirmed one death, with at least 20 more injuries as of right now.

The situation in Charlottesville, Virginia is rapidly deteriorating, and earlier this afternoon a car plowed into a group of reportedly anti-racist protesters in what looks like an intentional act of terrorism.
