Yes, Cher comes in to play Sophie’s (Amanda Seyfriend) grandmother, which means she’s Meryl Streep’s mother. Streep is 68. Cher is 71.
ANYWAY.
The sequel will take place both in current day — with all the main cast from the original returning — as well as in the past, with Lily James (Baby Driver, Cinderella) portraying Young Donna.
For those wondering, this sequel is happening because the 2008 original made over $600 million dollars worldwide. Plus: ABBA!
