Distracted driving is a huge problem in America, and despite our best efforts to combat it, the reckless behavior claims more lives every day. While not every instance ends in tragedy, there’s no excuse for risking your safety and the safety of others over a text.

Globally, roughly 1.3 million people die in car accidents each year, and between 20 and 50 million are injured. Distracted driving increases these chances, and when you see this video, you’ll be baffled by our dangerous habits.

In 2013, over 3,000 people were killed in car accidents involving distracted driving, and another 400,000 were injured. That’s what makes videos like the one below so alarming.
